I’ve had a hard time trying to think of a proper title.. but here goes.
open terminal
type the following – defaults write com.apple.dashboard devmode YES – Log out and Login again.
now the fun starts.
Open dashboard – press F12 (default – unless you changed it)
click and drag the widget you like (to confirm you are holding it)
press F12 again – hold on the mouse button still, then let go when you’re back in finder (desktop)
now the dashboard widget will float on your desktop, and you still can be in safari, or excel with stickies on top!
This tip is great if have plenty of desktop space, or you’re using a widget that you like and want to monitor while doing other things, than pressing F12 back and forth.
For example, I usually look in yellow pages, but IMHO its pretty stupid that I cant switch to relay on web or use HOVRS via AIM/VP I cant see the number again once I go back to ichat or web page.
as you can see now I can easily keep tabs on my yellow-pages dashboard widget and still chat on relay
you can turn this off by typing defaults write com.apple.dashboard devmode NO to disable it. (you will need to log out/login again)

Huh-oh…… posting a SPRINT Relay picture on a website sponsored by HOVRS. :-) what a competition.
ahh sue me for having freedom of choice – isnt that HOVRS encourages in the first place ? :)
But I did not realize this until you posted this Matt, ha.
next time – you’ll see an HOVRS screen shot in my posts.
BGramer: go ahead send me an email dmo.writer@gmail.com , I can forward to the right person,,,
To whom it may concern,
This deafmac.org has came to a disappointment to me. I was looking forward to involve a lot of discussions, killer tips, stories, softwares and many more. I feel I can’t get involve by sharing my stories or tips. The current moderator needs to be more involved with this website and make it updated almost everyday like http://www.macrumors.com
I’m sure the deaf mac users out there do feel the same thing by limited themselves by posting comments and can’t go any further.
Just a head up and I hope things will be better in the future or sooner.
Thanks
