for Tice,
I work for AT&T and had a customer with a similar issue... in the end, she came to my store, I had her interpreter sign the proof of disability form, I faxed it off and called the office to make sure they got the fax, customer service then backdated the TAP plan for her to give her credit back for all the months she had the un-needed voice plan. You just need to find the person on the inside that is willing to do the footwork for you ;-)

AT&T? THIS YEARS (AND LAST) HAIRY BEAN BAG AWARD WINNER!!!!!!

I purchased my wife's (very first) phone LAST CHRISTMAS upon being informed of the TAP plan by a well meaning sales person. Four months later, they've yet to connect (their own!) dots to make this a reality. Having been lied to, misled, misinformed, et al...

I would have cheerfully bought another iphone, but was told that t.a.p. was available for other specific devices. Which from I selected.

FOUR MONTHS LATER, still I wait.....

The latest is a "corrupt" pdf file that will not produce a legible form for the doctor to fill-out: ( for the THIRD TIME!! )

They're real sticklers for cover sheets on TPS reports people.
To put it nicely.

I double check and called NCCD about the TAP plan for new iphone. They said that it is true and will honor it if you fill out the application form and have your doctor/audiologist sign it and mail/fax the form to them. So enough of all non-sense talking about TAP won't work with new iphone, etc, etc. Yes it will be $40 monthly unlimited data plan only. All is confirmed as what we all want to know about so we all are good to go and buy new iphone with no problem!

14 hours to go!

I received an email from NCCD, who administers the TAP program -- here's a response:

"Currently AT&T has not made any announcement regarding the inclusion of the iPhone 3G with the TAP plan. If the decision is made to include this device an official announcement will be made."

The current TAP plan will remain the same for the new 3G iPhone. The normal (not iPhone) AT&T TAP plans only cost $30, so it looks like they built the extra cost into the iPhone plan from the start.

I still want to know if listening to visual voice mail uses minutes (on the TAP plan).

Will the current TAP plan still be in effect for the new 3G iphone with its higher rates? I have been wondering about that.

I am planning to buy 3G iphone in Las Vegas on July 11th! I did talk with someone at AT&T about my current TAP on old (edge) iphone. Once you purchase 3G iphone, they will transfer my TAP o new iphone and I can do whatever I want with old iphone. Sell it, give it to a friend, wife, dog, whatever, but they will have to purchase contract with voice plan with AT&T by either walk into store or do from computer. I might sweeten the deal to sell iphone with Ojo video phone (once used) for more $$ :-)

Does anyone know if you get charged 40 c/min for listening to voice mail if you have the TAP plan?

They're also supposed to be introducing an IM client, though I'm sure with the new downloadable software someone will have IM for us too.

Hi, I am new here. I have a question. Would a new 3G iPhone be able to run on both Edge network and 3G network? I live in Maine, but the 3G network is unavailable, but a rumor was that AT&T expects to build the 3G network in Maine soon. When??? Do you know about between the 3G and Edge networks? TIA
